Dismissed: Assault Family Violence — Client was intoxicated when she struck live-in boyfriend multiple times during argument. Police observed ‘victim’ to have visible injuries.

Female Defendant scratched her boyfriend while he was assaulting her during an argument. When the police arrived, he was calm and she was hysterical. Once the Police Officers observed that his injuries (scratches) were more pronounced that hers (redness) she was arrested. Fortunately here the Prosecution saw what the police missed: the female was not the person that should be charged in this transaction.

**update: since this case has been dismissed, the Victim (boyfriend) is being investigated for having subsequently assaulted the child of the female Defendant, as well as the female Defendant.**
